Starting at 5 years old, Ms. Sophie grew up dancing with a passion for the art form, and later went on to study dance in college. She trained in ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, modern and tumbling. Ms. Sophie graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work from Missouri State University in Springfield. While there, she performed as a member of the MSU Dance Team for 3 years, and danced in various choreographers’ productions in the Theatre and Dance Departments. She has performed at the New Year’s Day Parade in London, danced professionally in the Shoji Tabuchi in Branson, Missouri for a year after earning her degree. Ms. Sophie is a long time instructor at TDM and she considers being able to teach dance to the next generation a great joy and gift. She’s blessed with the ongoing support from her husband, Matt, and their two precious children, Kayla and Foster.
